The Computer History Museum opened in 1996 to celebrate the development of computing by compiling 13,000 objects, 20,000 images, and several hundred gigabytes of software. The exhibits cover the conception of computing during WWII, through recent advancements in microprocessing and the Internet. The museum is located south of Shoreline Golf Links, near the Moffett Federal Air Field.
